The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to join our senior leadership team during an exciting phase of Academy expansion and development.  The outstanding candidate will lead and develop teaching and learning strategies for all students, but with a focus on strategies to improve the knowledge, understanding and progress of disadvantaged students and SEND students. 

Reporting to the Vice Principal (Standards), and with responsibility for both the strategic leadership of a core faculty area, and a specific year group; this role will be accountable for the provision of a comprehensive range of outstanding professional development activities for staff, including the leadership and coordination of the staff performance management and review system. 

There will be responsibility for the organization and development of MHA’s NQT and trainee teachers program.

We are seeking an outstanding teacher to make a distinctive contribution to the leadership of the Academy, who is aligned with our mission to improve the life chances of our students in the local community to which we serve.  Suitable candidates will be committed, hardworking and caring practitioners with a proven track record in the classroom and within their current middle or senior leadership role.  The successful candidate will be able evidence leadership ability which has led to measurable impact as well as the development of successful teaching and learning strategies in their curriculum area and beyond.


The School

Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and to accommodate a growing student population we have recently completed a further £10 million expansion project.
