Job overview

Assistant Principal (L11-14)

£50,476 - £54,250

Required January 2018

We wish to recruit an enthusiastic Assistant Principal at this 11-16 comprehensive, serving the West Yorkshire areas of Mirfield and Ravensthorpe.

The successful applicant will take a strategic lead on key aspects of our Academy Improvement Plan.  Precise details of the role are open to discussion and will be determined upon appointment.

An Ofsted inspection in November 2016 judged that Castle Hall Academy required Special Measures.  Despite regularly achieving attainment scores above national average, progress scores have not been as positive.

Leaders, governors and staff are united in their ambition to improve the academy’s performance and Ofsted grade as soon as possible.  The 2017 GCSE results have already demonstrated a significant step forwards, but we know there remains further work to be done.

You will already be an outstanding classroom teacher, and will have a track record of success in middle and/or senior leadership roles.  Experience of leading whole-school initiative will have prepared you for the demands of this vital leadership role.

This is a key appointment for Castle Hall, and we are determined to find a team

player who shares our vision and values, and who can take a leading role in our improvement.

To have an informal, confidential discussion and to find out how to apply, please contact Kate Murphy at Hays Education on 0113 200 3710 or at Kate.Murphy@hays.com.

Visits to the school are encouraged and warmly welcomed. These can be organised by contacting Kate Murphy at Hays Education.

The closing date for all applications is: 9:00am on Friday 13th October.  Interviews will take place the following week.

We welcome applications from teachers who are ambitious to take a lead in raising achievement and transforming students’ learning experience. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post is subject to enhanced disclosure.
