Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy (OSSMA) is a non-denominational, non-selective school, welcoming students of all backgrounds from the local community. The opportunity 

We are now seeking a skilled and committed senior leader to join the team as Assistant Principal: SENCO.

We are highly ambitious for our students and our staff are pivotal to our success. As part of the staff team, you will have the opportunity to work with great colleagues and develop your career through an outstanding professional development programme. You will be encouraged to be a reflective and open practitioner and be supported by the expertise of the Principal, Vice Principals, and experienced network colleagues, to develop yourself as an outstanding leader. 

You will also have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the academy and wider Trust to develop excellent practice.

The successful candidate will:

·      be an outstanding teacher with a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes 

·      have up-to-date knowledge of subject curricula and assessment requirements 

·      be passionate about the education of children and committed to supporting children with additional needs, 

·      have experience of delivering effective training to individuals and groups of staff

·      have experience of helping coordinate the vision and strategy for a large school

·      have experience of managing effective external relationships with community and other stakeholders

·      have experience of working in partnership with the Principal and the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring the safeguarding of all pupils, and that the safety and wellbeing of pupils and staff at all times
