Our opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a talented leader in the role of Assistant Principal (Student Experience and Destinations) who can inspire and motivate students and staff within the role. You will work to highest standards across our Sixth Form with a responsibility for overseeing the Sixth Forms Tutor team and pastoral programme, Careers, Employability and Access to Higher Education, Student Attendance, Enrichment and safeguarding.

The role will be a member of the Sixth Form Senior Leadership Team, which sets the strategic and operational direction for the Sixth Form.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and inspirational leader or middle leader looking to take their next step in their career. Strong experience in safeguarding is essential and in particular must have an appropriate safeguarding qualification.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the AP (Student Experience and Destinations) has responsibility for the effective operational running of the sixth form as well as specific responsibilities in their area.

The AP (Student Experience and Destinations) will ensure the effective running of the supportive elements of our pastoral provision in relation to wellbeing, behaviour, and equality and diversity. The candidate will recognise the significant role of behaviour and welfare has in shaping a student’s ability to succeed.  

Our Sixth Form draws a large majority of its cohort from North East Sheffield where there is a diverse population. We strive to be diverse and inclusive organisation where we can all be ourselves. Offering A Level and vocational programmes from Level 1 to 3, we offer a genuinely inclusive curriculum, supporting students to realise their aspirations and achieve remarkable outcomes.  We are especially proud of our diverse and inclusive learning environment, one which promotes challenge, independence and individuality.

The Academy has invested significantly in facilities to support student independence and ownership of learning.
