Job overview

We are recruiting a highly motivated senior leader to work in close partnership with the principal and senior leadership team to help obtain an outstanding rating at IES Breckland, an ambitious free school in Suffolk, educating children from 11 to 16 years old.

Ofsted rates the school as good and the mission now is to focus on further development to raise the life chances of the children in Brandon and the surrounding community.

It is preferable that the successful candidate has previous senior leadership experience. The candidate will have the commitment, skills and character required to make an impact in an already good school, will combine subject expertise with a passion for teaching their subject, support and uphold practices driving improvement in student outcomes across the school, be a team player, willing to ‘go the extra mile’ to fulfill the school’s aspiration to be outstanding, have a proven track record of whole-school impact, and have an awareness of Ofsted criteria, both current and potential. They must possess effective and adaptable communication and interpersonal skills and be a role model for staff and students.

Sabres Educational Trust is committed to developing the school and seeks an individual who will assist with the journey. The International English Schools are part of a highly successful international school organisation with 36 schools in Sweden and 4 in Spain and are on a journey to become a world leading education organisation.

IES Breckland fosters an international atmosphere with a calm and productive learning environment, where the education and welfare of students is at the heart of lifting the community.

Highly competitive salary, to be negotiated based on experience and track record.

Applications are to be directed to Mrs Kate Curtis, Chair of Governors.
