Cokethorpe School is looking for an Assistant Registrar to work 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday all year round.

The Admissions Department consists of four members of staff; The Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Data and Reporting Officer, and the Admissions Administrator.

The role reports to the Registrar who manages the Admissions Office with a remit across the whole School. Pupils may join Cokethorpe in Reception (4+), Year 3 (7+), First Form (11+), Third Form (13+) and Sixth Form (16+). Pupils can also join in other year groups where space allows. This makes for a varied and dynamic Admissions calendar.

The School aims to ensure that all prospective parents feel they are guided through the admissions process in a friendly and professional way. It is the responsibility of the Registrar’s team to ensure that the School provides an experience for families, agents, feeder schools and nurseries that ensures they get a real feel for the breadth of opportunity that exists alongside academic excellence throughout the School.

The Admissions Office collaborates with many other staff, most notably teaching staff, those in the Bursary, and those in the Communications Office. Whilst each team member carries their own specific responsibilities, teamworking and flexibility are key to enable the team’s overall objectives to be met.

Purpose

To support the Registrar with proactive follow up and management of all enquiries and leads identified for potential recruitment to the Prep and Senior School. To be confident in managing the entire process from initial enquiry to enrolment and induction. To support the Registrar with all aspects of meeting the Admissions aims and objectives set out in the Marketing and Admissions Plan. Achieve agreed recruitment targets in individual year groups.

About Cokethorpe School

Cokethorpe is an independent, day school for boys and girls aged four to eighteen, set in 150 acres of glorious Oxfordshire parkland, just two miles south of Witney and ten miles to the west of Oxford.

The School is unique in many ways; not only is our setting unsurpassed but we are also one of the only co-educational day schools in Oxfordshire with both Prep and Senior schools on the same site.

At the heart of our School is the belief that our pupils dig deeper, reach higher, and stretch further when they feel the embrace of supportive peers and the oversight of enthusiastic and experienced teachers who know when and how to challenge them. This sense of community is fostered by the close-knit House system where young people develop a deep sense of belonging; it is forged around the close, working relationship of the small classrooms, where teachers engage the intellect, encourage students to grapple with ideas, and teach lifelong respect and humility.

We are a happy, strong and vibrant community, in which individuals are generous of spirit, inspire friendship and support one another. Our teachers, pupils and parents value the School's small class sizes and emphasis on delivering liberal educational principles in an environment that celebrates individual achievements equally, whatever their passions might be.
