The Assistant School Success Manager position is an exciting opportunity for the right person who is interested in making a difference in teaching and learning, with expertise in Three-wave intervention and classroom differentiation. 

SAM Learning’s Three-wave Intervention enables secondary schools to drive personalised student learning with ease, using our award winning content and online platform.

The Assistant School Success Manager’s primary duties are to build broad and successful usage of SAM Learning in approximately 250 schools and to foster positive relationships with middle and senior leaders in the schools. By fulfilling these duties successfully, the Assistant School Success Manager will lay the groundwork for the renewal and potential expansion of SAM Learning’s subscription contract with schools.

The Assistant School Success Manager is part of SAM Learning’s School Success Team and Service Delivery Division and will report to SAM Learning’s School Success Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

The Assistant School Success Manager’s primary duties are to:

  • Working from home, represent SAM Learning through telecommunications, online voice conferencing, webinars/e-learning and in the field while fulfilling account management, project management, professional development training, and sales support duties.
  • Implement, execute and assist in the monitoring of a strategic plan to ensure above average engagement and successful renewal of approximately 250 schools.
  • Agree with the school senior leader(s) a strategic plan for Three-wave Intervention that aligns with the SDP.
  • Persuasively interact with middle and senior leaders and school decision makers regarding the benefits of SAM Learning, their implementation strategy, and learner and teacher engagement with SAM Learning.
  • Ensure all participating teachers within subscribing schools are practicing Three-wave Intervention using SAM Learning, as indicated by the number of active teachers, the number of tasks set to learners and the number of teachers actively creating and personalising content via the SAM Learning platform within each school.
  • Communicate to Senior Leaders as a peer (essential), and be able to deliver bad news when necessary that their staff members have not done things they have been asked to do.
  • Prioritise caseload and deliver strategic support to schools in need.
  • During Term-Time: Book and hold 25 or more pre-scheduled remote meetings per week using screen-share technology.
  • During School Holidays: Assist in the development and implementation of innovative CPD and teaching/learning resources for use across SAM Learning’s school subscriber network.
  • Provide detail-oriented documentation and weekly reporting of conference calls, partnership planning meetings, implementation review/support meetings, CPD/training sessions, and sale-support activities.
  • Provide regular feedback on how SAM Learning’s Three-wave Intervention framework is being adopted within schools, including challenges, roadblocks, successes and highlight (proactively) areas for improvement.
  • Travel up to 10% (5 - 10 times per year) within the UK to attend company team meetings (may require overnight stays) and on-site visits to schools.

Additional Job Functions:

  • Interact with middle and senior leaders within schools, SAM Learning’s sales, customer service, marketing, and content/product development departments, and other potential and current customers regarding their SAM Learning subscription.
  • Onboard new schools as well as support existing schools.
  • Provide online webinars, video conference meetings, on-site support, and CPD training to teachers and middle/senior leaders.
  • Live and breath SAM Learning’s company core values - care, hussle, and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to SAM Learning’s Service Delivery and Sales Divisions’ goals, objectives, and projects.
  • Equitably work SAM Learning customer support tickets through to resolution throughout academic year, including holiday and term breaks.
  • Track, document, and submit expenses related to SAM Learning duties
  • Other School Success Team and sales support duties, as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Education

  • Bachelor degree in an education field, and
  • Certificate in teaching


Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Mental Requirements

  • 4+ years experience at a middle level (or higher) in an English State Secondary School
  • Experience delivering CPD for teachers, particularly for secondary teachers
  • Knowledge of UK educational research pertaining to instruction and CPD
  • Mastery of technology use in teaching practice and for personal use
  • Ability to act independently and responsibly
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Proven ability to work in small, flexible, cross-functional teams to set measurable goals and meet or exceed them
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain home office and travel (up to 10%) independently to complete assignments.


Professional Requirements

  • References attesting to
    - Secondary education teaching or leadership skills
    - CPD delivery skills
    - Use of Three-wave intervention and/or classroom differentiation
  • DBS check, if selected

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Education,
  • National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership, Postgraduate certificate in Education, Leadership and Management, or similar


Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Mental Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience at a senior level in an English State Secondary School
  • Experience having whole-school responsibility
  • 5 - 7 years of experience delivering CPD for teachers, particularly for secondary teachers
  • 2+ years of experience using SAM Learning as a classroom teacher and/or middle/senior leader
  • Proven experience engaging other education leaders and teachers in new school initiatives (ideally relating to target-setting / targeted intervention).
  • Proven experience in the integration of technology in teaching practice and for personal use, and particularly comfortable figuring out online technology tools never used before. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Previous experience as a telecommuter


Term time:
school term time plus an additional four weeks per academic year during school holidays planning & preparation time

Location: work from home but some UK travel is required (daily online contact with colleagues)

Mileage & expenses: reimbursed by SAM Learning
