Job overview

Exeter School is the leading co-educational day school in the Southwest, educating over 940 pupils aged 7-18. An HMC and IAPS school, situated on a 25-acre site near the city centre, our strong links to the local community, well-established pastoral care systems and fantastic teaching enable us to challenge, inspire and deliver the very best learning to our pupils.

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Science Technician to start as soon as possible.

Reporting to the Science Technician Coordinator, the post-holder will work across the three science departments supporting the subject technicians with a range of tasks.

No laboratory or technician experience is required, although an interest in science would be helpful and a positive, can-do attitude is essential.

This is a temporary position, ideally working 37.5 hrs/week (8.30am to 4.30pm with a 30-minute lunch break, five days per week), during term time and includes 5.6 weeks paid holiday to be taken during school holidays. However, some flexibility on hours is a possibility to be explored at interview. The role is initially available until 16 December.

The role will attract a salary at the rate of £21,510 per annum as well as generous benefits including 8% employer pension contribution, free school lunch during term time, free on-site parking, discretionary staff discount on school fees and use of indoor swimming pool and fitness suite.

Closing date: Friday 30 September, noon. Applications may close before the deadline, so please apply early to avoid disappointment.
