ASSISTANT SCIENCE TECHNICIAN (SUPPORT STAFF, Permanent) 

We are looking for an Assistant Science Technician to join our successful Science Department. Applications are invited from candidates who are passionate about science and working with children. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic about the role, demonstrate a flexible and reliable approach to duties whilst having excellent organisational skills. They will also be able to communicate well with both adults and pupils, in addition they will possess good numeracy and literacy skills.  Experience of working in school or a background in science would be advantageous but is not essential.

Hours: 30 hours per week, during term time only Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 3.00pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)  

Grade: Scale 1/2, SCP 8-13 (Dependent on experience)   (£16,626 - £17,391 pro rata, actual salary £11,643 - £12,178)

Hollingworth Academy is an oversubscribed 11-16 comprehensive situated off the M62/M60 in the town of Milnrow, Rochdale.  In 2008 an Ofsted Inspection graded Hollingworth as ‘Outstanding’ and since that report academic standards have continued to rise.
