Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dedicated teacher to work within our Flexible Learning Provision which includes enhanced provision for 20 students with Speech, Language and Communication difficulties. This post involves working with the SENCo to ensure the best possible outcomes for all of our students and developing our provision to meet the needs of all of our students.

Main duties include:

  • Working with the SENCo and the whole of the Flexible Learning Provision team to ensure all students are included and given opportunities to succeed
  • Making the best use of a team of Learning Mentors
  • Working with mainstream teachers to support them in differentiating work appropriately for students
  • Creating and delivering individual and group provision plans for students, which balance students' academic aspirations with their self-esteem needs
  • Liaising with parents, students and other agencies.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly speech, language and communication difficulties either in special, primary or secondary school
  • Be dedicated to enabling every individual to achieve their best
  • Be patient and student-led
  • Have the national SENCo award or be keen to work towards it.


The North Essex Multi-Academy Trust was established in September 2013 and currently consists of one primary school and two secondary schools all recently judged as "Good" by Ofsted: Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form, The Ramsey Academy, Halstead and Richard de Clare Primary School, Halstead.
