Layton Primary School is looking to recruit a passionate, creative and well-motivated Assistant SENDCO/Class Teacher to teach within a Year 1 specialist provision within our three-form, mainstream school. You must be committed to providing a happy, caring and stimulating learning environment where children are valued as individuals and to ensuring every child reaches its full potential. You will need to provide evidence of good or outstanding teaching and excellent subject knowledge is essential. You will work alongside the SENDCO and the EYFS/Year 1 team to support the inclusion of a group of up to eight children who have speech, language and communication and interaction needs. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has worked with children with a range of SEND.

You will be teaching in the Layton Lighthouse full time, ensuring you maintain an ambitious curriculum for all. You will work closely with the Year 1 team to look at reintegrating children where appropriate. The successful candidate will contribute to the PDR and EHCP processes and work in collaboration with our SENDCO to meet the needs of our children. You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-agency capacity.

This is a permanent position and will commence 01/09/23. Our school honours pay portability, so we welcome applications from Main Scale and Upper Pay Scale teachers. The role will also have the additional TLR2a allowance for the responsibilities of the post.
