Job overview

This role is an exciting opportunity to join an academy and be part of a growing Trust, with a genuine commitment to partnership and collaboration. As the academy progresses on its journey to improved outcomes, the academy is seeking to appoint an Assistant SENDCO.

Do you want to work in a school where there are no barriers put in place to prevent children from being successful and where ceilings are never placed on potential or opportunity?

Washington Academy is a great place to work and is backed by a Trust that exists to give young people an entitlement to the best education possible.

We are looking for someone who believes in our vision and contribute to taking Washington to the next level for our students by assisting the SENCO in leading an amazing SEN provision within the academy.

The successful candidate must have a formal SENCO qualification and experience of working with students having special education needs.

If you feel you share our values, have the vision and drive for excellence and want to be part of an enthusiastic, dedicated and well-resourced team, committed to ensuring that students fulfil their potential, then we would like to hear from you.

Washington Academy is a unique community. We aim to ensure that every young person follows a learning pathway that meets their needs, develops their character and enables them to achieve their personal, social and academic best.

We are proud of our school and the successes of our students, yet still continue to work towards making the learning experience a positive one for every young person. We believe that we are achieving this by developing staff who are able to work together with the students, leading their learning and challenging their ambition.

High expectations, high standards and cutting-edge technology combine with strong traditional values to form the collective vision for our school.

Our young people achieve success through shared high expectations and standards, acceptance of responsibility, quality relationships and consistency of approach.
