An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, forward thinking Assistant Leader of Visual and Performing Arts (Art) to play a key role in shaping the curriculum of our successful secondary school.  

This post would suit either an experienced Middle Leader or an ambitious, aspiring teacher with a strong record in the classroom.  First-hand experience of senior leadership will be offered through regular opportunities to work alongside the Senior Leadership Team and lead on whole school projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing our already successful Art provision across all Key Stages and have a genuine interest in leading and transforming practice within the subject areas. You will have the vision and expertise to work alongside our Senior Curriculum Leader for VPA and the team to strengthen existing provision, and the ability to inspire students and secure outstanding progress and attainment.

The Whitby High School is a successful 11-18 secondary school with a strong focus on learning in all aspects of its work. There are 1600 students on roll, including a thriving Sixth Form. The school has extremely high aspirations for all staff and students and has a very positive attitude to change.
