Dear prospective applicant,
Thank you for expressing an interest in this key vacancy at our college. The College has been serving the community since 1950 and continues to be a ‘Good’ school after last being inspected in January 2016.
I would urge you to visit our website and view clips of our college and what it means to work at this amazing college. https://www.crownhills.com/join-us/
My desire is that we do not become a College that is driven by OFSTED and whether we are ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’. I want us to be at the forefront of educational excellence because we want to provide the best educational experience possible for the children in our care. This is extremely difficult in a climate of ever increasing accountability and diminishing resources. However I sincerely believe that if we lead this community by staying true to our values then it is possible.
We are very clear that the gender, background, colour, poverty, wealth or social status of a child should have no bearing on how well they perform and staff here work extremely hard in trying to close that gap between the different groups of pupils. We are currently forecasting a P8 score of +0.25 and have moved from zero over the past two years and we know we still have room for further improvement.
The college is driven by three key values:
Aspiration - Be the best you can be
Commitment - Do what it takes for as long as it takes
Success - Be ready to take on the world
I am looking to invest in this key area of the school and have therefore restructured the way that the inclusion team work. These 3 posts are completely new and the successful candidate will be attached to a specific year group and work closely with the Head of Year.
There is currently a social inclusion team that consists of a counsellor and 3 inclusion support workers that support the mentoring and supervision of students in behaviour support.
This role is extremely important in supporting the value of commitment as we believe this is the missing piece in the puzzle that will make this college great.
Please read the attached job description and person specification. If you are interested in applying, please fill in the application form available on our website: www.crownhills.com, outlining how you meet the person specification in Section 7 (no more then 2 sides of A4, font 12) and including e-mail addresses of all referees. All completed applications to be emailed to jamey@crownhills.leicester.sch.uk by 9am on Thursday 22nd August 2019.
Previous applicants need not apply.
Interviews are likely to take place during week commencing 2nd September 2019.
I look forward to meeting you and receiving your application.
Yours sincerely,
Mr F Adam
(Principal)
