ASSISTANT VICE PRINCIPAL

REQUIRED JANUARY OR APRIL 2020

LEADERSHIP SCALE POINTS 16-20

Are you ready for a new professional opportunity? Do you want to be part of a friendly and supportive academy where the professional development of all staff is given a very high priority?

Plume Academy’s extremely positive Ofsted inspection in January 2018 judged the academy as ‘good’ in all areas, including the Sixth Form, and we are now looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Assistant Vice Principal to support us on our journey to become Outstanding.

You will have a proven track record of leadership, outstanding classroom teaching and have a reputation for having a positive impact on whole academy development. This role comes with specific responsibility for our large split campus Mathematics Faculty.

In this strategic management role, we are looking for a proactive leader with a ‘can do’ attitude and nature to ensure that the needs of every student are fully met.

The academy’s staff are passionate about teaching and learning, and we are looking for an ambitious professional who we can further develop in terms of their ongoing educational journey. The staff are also exceptionally hardworking and share our ambitions for the students.

We are looking for an inspirational Assistant Vice Principal to:

• work in partnership with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to positively lead this vitally important curriculum area and to achieve the best outcomes for our students;

• demonstrate inspirational and outstanding teaching, and help further develop consistently strong and effective teaching throughout the academy;

• ensure good progress for all students across the maths faculty; and

• lead by as well as model exemplary practice.

In return we can offer you:

 the opportunity to join a supportive staff and work with motivated students;

 the opportunity to join an aspiring academy with exciting plans for the future;

 opportunities to teach across KS3, 4 and 5;

 the opportunity to join an institution focused on the continued raising of holistic standards; and

 free access to the Employee Assistance Programme provided by the Education Support Network, offering individual support, information and advice including financial, legal and home-life and work-related issues.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a regular teaching commitment in line with the seniority of the position and the expectations of the role.

Plume Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and Trustees to share this commitment.  All appointments are therefore subject to satisfactory DBS and Immigration Checks, together with the receipt of references and only applications submitted on the Academy’s application form will be considered.
