Nunthorpe Multi Academy Trust are seeking to appoint a highly driven Assistant Vice Principal Inclusion (SENCO) for a September 2021 start at Nunthorpe Academy.

Nunthorpe Academy is an oversubscribed 11-19 Academy with 1,450 students in the main school and a further 200 students in the sixth form. 

The Academy was inspected in March 2019 and secured an overall ‘Good’ judgement, with the sixth form provision being recognised as maintaining its Outstanding status.

Trustees are extremely proud of Nunthorpe Academy and we are looking for an inspiring Senior Leader who will build productive relationships with our students, their parents and carers, the staff, Governors of the Academy and the wider community. The successful applicant will help to lead the Academy onto the next significant phase of our development.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Lead on all elements of SEN/D identification, provision, monitoring and support; liaise with families of SEN/D students to ensure all students’ needs are met and individuals have the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

2.    To perform the requirements of the role of DSL and support the Vice Principal in the leadership of all aspects of academy strategy and procedure relating to Safeguarding.

3. Lead on all elements of Child Protection, ensuring that the Academy is fully compliant with all guidance and legal requirements. Student support systems for all vulnerable groups are effectively implemented keeping all students safe and able to fulfil their potential.

4. Direct the work of our ‘Looked After Child’ lead.
