As a new provision, and in support of our planned growth towards capacity, Longspee Secondary are seeking to appoint an inspirational and high-quality leader who is looking for an exciting, fast-paced and rewarding role, focused on improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.  

 Longspee Secondary is a specialist provision for young people with Autism and SEMH – with almost all of our current students having their main need in the area of Autism and associated complexities. We offer a rich and high-quality learning experience, with a relentless and positive focus upon Happy, Safe, Progress, to help ensure that our students can build and achieve a successful adult life. When at capacity, Longspee Secondary will have around 55 KS3 and KS4 students, across 8 classes.

 The key responsibilities of the role will be in the areas of Curriculum, Quality of Education and Personal Development, including a specific role in the enabling and empowering of positive Wellbeing and Inclusion.

 The successful candidate will be: 

- An experienced middle or senior leader with a track record of making an impact on whole school outcomes 

- An outstanding classroom practitioner who can demonstrate outstanding outcomes for children with special education needs, either in specialist or mainstream settings 

- An expert in the field of inclusion who demonstrates this when working with pupils both in the classroom and around the school 

- An excellent communicator with a shared collaborative vision for our school 

- A supportive line manager to colleagues, with expertise in delivering whole school training in key areas 

- A proactive thinker and dynamic problem solver, who can work independently and as part of the team 

- Flexible with a ‘can-do’ attitude towards the shared responsibilities of the Leadership Team 

- Committed to continued professional development with the aspiration for ongoing excellence
