Job overview

Associate Lecturer in Foundation Maths

Salary: £25.01 per hour plus excellent benefits

Hours: Variable, currently anticipated to be Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday from January.

Contract: Permanent

Due to the internal progression of an existing member of staff, there is an opportunity to join the Faculty of Maths and Science to support delivery of GCSE and Functional Skills Maths to our 16-18 year old learners across the college. The Faculty was awarded grade 1 in the Ofsted inspection in 2014 and is based in new purpose-built facilities in the Maths and Science Centre, although we generally deliver Foundation Maths to groups of students based in the Faculty of their main curriculum subject. As well as Foundation Maths, the Faculty delivers a range of maths and science courses at level three and boasts outstanding achievement and value-added rates.

You will be joining an experienced, supportive team with a strong commitment to sharing ideas and resources. The team is coordinated by an experienced Lead and Assistant Lead for Foundation Maths. You would also benefit from support within the Faculty including a mentor and Teaching and Learning Lead. As an Associate Lecturer you will be delivering lessons and carrying out preparation and marking but will be supported with a scheme of work and a wealth of resources.

Applications from experienced teachers, as well as those newer to the profession are welcome; we will be seeking to appoint a teacher with the greatest ability, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in the classroom.

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure by the DBS.

We do not accept CVs, no agencies please.

Exeter College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Exeter College is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and access for all, irrespective of age, background, race, gender, religion, ability, disability or sexuality.

We welcome applications for employment from the whole community.
