Due to continued growth in student numbers and the promotion of a member of staff, there is a rare opportunity to join the Physics Team in the Faculty of Maths and Science. The Faculty was awarded grade 1 in the Ofsted inspection in 2014 and is primarily based in new purpose-built facilities in the Maths and Science Centre.
The Faculty delivers a range of maths and science courses at levels two and three including GCSEs, A levels, BTEC Applied Science, IB science and maths courses, Access to HE and Apprenticeships at levels 3 and 4. The Faculty boasts excellent achievement and value-added rates.
You will be joining an experienced, supportive team for Physics with a strong commitment to sharing ideas and resources. You will also benefit from support within the Faculty including a mentor and a Team Leader. As an Associate Lecturer you will be delivering lessons and carrying out preparation and marking but will be supported with a Scheme of Work from a Programme Leader.
This role is currently anticipated to deliver primarily Level 3 Physics to A level, but there may be opportunities to teach the subject on the Level 3 BTEC Applied Science. Ability to teach another subject within the faculty is an advantage, but not essential.
