At College Development Network (CDN) we are seeking to extend our network of experienced and valued Associates to meet the increasing demand for the delivery of training and development for college staff.

As a CDN Associate you will be a specialist in your field with up to date and relevant learning, teaching and assessment experience gained in a college setting. You may be currently working in a college and seeking a secondment opportunity, either full time or part time, or you may have recently left a college and be working on a consultancy basis.

Associates work on a flexible basis, the role could be part time, term time or full time for a fixed term. CDN will offer full induction training and ongoing support.

Areas of Interest

Areas that CDN are interested in include:

  • Learning and teaching – including assessment, safeguarding and co-operative learning
  • Classroom excellence – behaviour and management
  • Enterprise and innovation
  • Industry engagement
  • Digital learning

TQFE and PDA – we also have a specific requirement for mentors and assessors with experience of delivery and support in TQFE and PDA. In particular, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

General Specific

  • Strong interpersonal skills – to communicate strengths and development needs to participants undertaking teaching qualifications
  • Ability to write concise, relevant, actionable and appropriate reports
  • Ability to communicate with staff development managers in colleges
  • Knowledge of PDA and TQFE content, academic demands and skills requirements.
  • Experience of delivering staff development
  • Experience of delivering online learning
  • Strong working knowledge of professional standards for teachers and lecturers
  • Working knowledge of current drivers in education and implications for college lecturers
  • Ability to develop reflection and evaluation skills in participants undertaking teaching qualifications
  • Ability to develop academic writing skills in participants undertaking teaching qualifications
  • Flexibility to attend meetings in colleges and TQFE provider institutions
  • Ability to develop confidence of colleagues undertaking teaching qualifications.
