Attendace and Pastoral Support Assistant

Scale 5 £19,750 - £21,385 p.a.

Full-time, term-time only. 

Permanent position, required to start September 2017

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to help support the administrative work of senior tutors and the pastoral team with their work in removing barriers to learning and improving student attendance/punctuality and parental engagement. You will provide an efficient and effective administrative service including monitoring the registration system to ensure it is accurate and up to date, reporting poor attendance and punctuality concerns to senior tutors and tutors. You will also process free school meal and bursary applications and deal with general enquiries from staff, students and visitors. You will provide support in the reception area, providing an efficient and welcoming reception environment and dealing effectively with all enquiries.

You will possess excellent communication, administration, organisational and IT skills together with a flexible and adaptable approach to your work. You will also have the desire to work in a busy, multi-cultural environment where young people are at the heart of everything we do.

Ideally you will have experience of working with a school management information system (we use SIMS) although training will be provided for the right candidate. You will also have the ability to work both on your own initiative as well as part of a team, be able to organise and prioritise your own workload and meet deadlines without supervision.
