Queen Elizabeth Grammar School is a selective, independent, all-boys senior school in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. There are currently around 720 pupils aged 7-18. In recent years, the school’s original Victorian purpose-built premises have been added to significantly, with the development of several specialist facilities including a sixth-form centre.

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School was formed by Royal Charter in 1591 in the centre of Wakefield, moving to its present site in Northgate in 1854. The availability of bequests and grants enabled the school to attract pupils from a wide catchment area and a broad range of social backgrounds. This trend continues today through foundation awards, scholarships and bursaries. The school forms part of the Wakefield Grammar School Foundation group of schools. A single governing body has oversight of all the schools.
