£25,481 to £28,672 pro rata plus £626 Outer London fringe allowance 

Actual salary £22,282 to £25,005

We are seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer to join our friendly, professional and supportive team. You will support the school by ensuring that student absence is monitored and procedures are followed to promote good attendance and positive attitudes.

We are seeking a colleague to:

• take responsibility for the administration of attendance with the ability to work with outside agencies, parents, students and key staff.

• monitor student attendance using SIMS.

• be responsible for ensuring reasons for absence are chased and logged on SIMS

• liaise with form tutors and offer advice and guidance as to how they can support their tutees in improving attendance

• hold parental meetings where attendance/punctuality is an issue

• have a clear and consistent approach to monitoring and reporting attendance

• make home visits as needed to support students and families in making improvements in attendance

• be responsible for ensuring letters and phone calls are made in a timely fashion in order to keep on top of attendance issues.

• build relationships with students, parents and relevant professionals to support and encourage attendance

• prepare necessary papers for the rare cases that proceed to court

Shenfield High School is a co-educational, non-denominational 11-18 secondary school located in Brentwood, Essex. At its most recent inspection there were 1,145 students aged 11-18 on the school roll, 350 of whom studied in the sixth form. The area of Shenfield has a population of 5,500 and is serviced by a station on the Liverpool Street Line, which will be the final stop on the Crossrail Elizabeth Line. 

Shenfield High School was opened in 1962 and converted to academy status in 2012. 

The school is underpinned by its philosophy of "Learning for Life" and promotes Learning, Respoect, Responsibility, Security, community & Success as its key values.
