In September 2017, the school moved into a brand new school with separate on-site Sports Centre. This includes four science labs, a drama studio and an expansive sports hall.

Principal

Karen Colligan

Values and vision

All Saints Catholic College embraces its role as a faith-based community, with relationships between staff and students based on a foundation of trust and compassion. Teachers instil in students the traditional gospel values of respect and dignity, while preparing them for life in the 21st century. Inclusivity is also at the heart of All Saints.

The school is infused with the ethical and spiritual tenets of Catholicism, especially in the fields of theology and philosophy. International links are maintained with regular pilgrimages to Lourdes.

The Principal and Governors' visions are intrinsically intertwined and can be found below:

Principal's Vision

That our success in formation and education is demonstrable and that we are recognised for the work that we do with our families, the efforts that we make in following Christ’s teaching and in the pursuit of academic excellence to develop young people who will serve the common good.

Governors' Vision

· That the highest level of safeguarding is practised in every aspect and that all students (and staff) feel safe and are able to thrive in a supportive environment within the College and are able to raise any concerns with confidence of appropriate action.

· That the Catholic ethos determines all our behaviours through living out the College Focus Virtues of Love, Service, Faith, Courage and Respect.

· That the curriculum is truly broad, balanced and comprehensive, educating the whole child to develop in them a sense of their own worth and value in society.

· That the College delivers an excellent education, raising and fulfilling the aspirations of students and enabling them to achieve their full potential by innovative teaching and robust assessment.

Ofsted report

“Students enjoy their learning and feel safe and happy. In classrooms and in social times, behaviour is good. Students treat one another with respect and talk positively about the relationships that they have with adults.”

Section 48 Inspection June 2018

We are so very proud to be able to report that we are officially graded Outstanding by the Diocese of Leeds! This is a very rigorous process that in many ways mirrors a full Ofsted inspection. Throughout the Inspection, there is a focus on Collective Worship, Religious Education and Catholic life. The inspectors were deeply impressed by our RE results which are amongst the highest in the Diocese. Incidentally, the Diocese of Leeds is over 400km² and covers 86 parishes. The inspectors very much wanted to know about our plans for college improvement and how we plan and assure student progression. We were judged on how we served the common good and promoted community cohesion. College governors came under close scrutiny also and were found to be instrumental in the strategic planning and support of the College. Quotes from the inspection are as follows:

‘Pupils like and value their school where pupils from different cultures and religions are able to be part of this Catholic community, living daily together as one happy community. Pupils appreciate the benefits of belonging to All Saints Catholic community and, actively participate in the school’s mission. Pupil behaviour is outstanding around the school.'

‘The school‘s behaviour for learning (BfL) and SEN department consists of a committed team who work very effectively to ensure that all pupils are included and their needs addressed.’

‘Leaders and Governors are fully committed to the Church’s mission in education. They undertake their respective roles with energy and enthusiasm and see the continued development of the Catholic life of the school as the number one priority.’

This is all fantastic news for the College going forward. We are full across the College and have a waiting list. We are really excited for the future.
