Salary:  Spine Point 26-34 with London weighting allowance Pro Rata: .£27228 to £33291 Actual £24465 to £29913.37

Reporting to: Senior Leadership Team

We wish to appoint a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist with an outstanding track record who is ambitious and is ready for an exciting new challenge. If you are self-motivated and enjoy working within a school environment alongside colleagues to help youngsters achieve the best they can then we would love to hear from you.

The Grove is a brand new Special School for autism opened in September 2018, we will be providing 104 places for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 19 on the autistic spectrum. The post holder will be part of the newly established team as we move to our newly refurbished site in September and increase our numbers to 70 pupils.

This is a rare opportunity to be involved in the early stages a new school. You will be setting up a new SaLT provision and be responsible for the development and planning process. If you relish in being able to make your mark with innovative and creative practice and you are excited about making a real difference then this role will provide you with the scope to achieve this.

The post holder will be responsible for leading speech and language therapy across the school ensuring there is high quality and effective support for pupils and those involved with them. The post holder will be expected to work closely with school leaders, class teams, our pastoral and family support, parents and carers and our multidisciplinary team and take a lead on training and research. 

The school is part of the PLASN-R group which is a research group funded by CREA and the IOE so you will have opportunities to discuss and present projects amongst other professionals. 

Training and clinical supervision will be provided for and you will have opportunities to link with other professionals through the local school’s network and local SIGs.

The post is term time only so you will work the school calendar year.
