The City of Liverpool College are currently looking for bank LSP to support on an ad hoc basis. 

Temporary hours are available 

 

Are you passionate about supporting students with their learning? Can you build positive relationships with students that will allow them to maximise their learning experience? The City of Liverpool College is looking for confident and experienced Learning Support Practitioners to join our ALS team as bank staff. 

 

The purpose of the role is:

  • To provide learning support that contributes to an outstanding student experience from the start of their college journey to progression into further study, employment or greater independence.
  • To work directly with curriculum and other support staff to proactively engage learners and meet individual social, emotional and learning needs. 
  • To comply with relevant performance monitoring and evaluation systems across the department to ensure quality of provision.
  • To provide quality in-class support to individuals or group of learners with a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities. You will be supporting learners across a range of courses from Entry Level to Level 3.

 

 Requirements:

  1. To be considered for this role you must have experience of supporting learners in an educational setting.
  2. Applicants must possess at least a Level 2 qualification, GCSE grade 4 or above or equivalent in Maths and English.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.
