Salary: £28,500 annual salary pro rata to 3 day a week equivalent (£17,100 actual salary) 

Contract Type: Permanent, 3 days a week

About the role

Vision for Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly reputable and dedicated organisation who have an exciting opportunity for a Barbering Tutor to join their team within Prison Education.  They currently run barbering academies in 3 prisons and are looking for skilled, enthusiastic staff to join their team.

The successful candidate will be joining an organisation that has a reputation for consistently delivering and maintaining best-practice performance standards in all its teaching, learning and assessment provision.  Success of learners in personal, social & employability skills being its primary goal

Main duties:

• To facilitate the delivery, assessment, and accreditation of Level 2 Barbering Qualifications

• To keep and maintain student records to monitor progress and achievement and support external validation and moderation as required by the awarding body (VTCT)

• Ensuring programme deadlines are met effectively

• Work with learners, colleagues, managers, and external organisations to ensure that the full range of learner needs are met 

To be considered for the post of Barbering Tutor, you must have:

• Level 3 teaching qualification 

• Level 3 qualification in Barbering 

• At least 1 year of barbering experience 

• Level 2 qualification in English and maths 

• Excellent computer literacy skills
