About the role
Vision for Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly reputable and dedicated organisation who have an exciting opportunity for a Basic Technical Training Instructor to join their team at an adult education training provider in Liverpool. We are looking for an enthusiastic GWO Basic Technical Instructor to educate people in a technological field, delivering basic technical modules including Mechanical, Hydraulics, Electrical and Installation in order to support our delegates with an awareness of the functionalities of a Wind Turbine with a view to competing effectively for entry level and above roles in the Renewables Sector. You will further develop technical training programs and help others develop skills that will make them better professionals.
Technical Instructors must be extremely knowledgeable in their field of expertise and possess solid technical aptitude. Additionally, we expect you to be an excellent communicator, able to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way.
The goal is to contribute to the development of people’s technical skills to meet
organisational needs.
Main duties/responsibilities:
• Devise technical training programs according to organisational requirements
• Produce training schedules and classroom agenda
• Determine course content according to objectives
• Prepare training material (presentations, worksheets etc.)
• Execute training sessions, webinars, workshops etc. in groups or individually
• Arrange for and conduct on-site training when needed
• Keep and report data on completed courses, absences, issues etc.
• Observe and evaluate results of training programs
• Determine overall effectiveness of programs and make improvements
To be considered for the post of Basic Technical Training Instructor, you must have:
• Proven experience as technical trainer
• GWO BTT Qualification (or willingness to undertake)
• Renewable industry specific or equivalent recent experience in similar technical field
• Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects
• Experience in designing technical course content
• Ability to address training needs with complete courses
• Working knowledge in MS Office (especially Powerpoint)
• Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
• Desirable Degree in a relevant technical field
• Certification such as Teaching/Assessing is a strong asset
