The School

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a successful 11-19 inner-city comprehensive school which has a glowing OFSTED report. We are committed to a creative and excellent education for all students. We have a positive reputation in the local area, benefit from strong parental support, and have an award winning building and a growing sixth form. Most importantly, students and staff of the school share a commitment to its success and ethos.

The post:

We require an outstanding and driven individual to work with some of our most vulnerable students. You will play a key role in making sure these young people succeed – at school and beyond.

Your role is to make a real difference to a small number of students who are disengaged – with the aim of restoring their relationship with learning and school. This work is to have a long term impact on each student: changing their understanding of themselves, and significantly raising their expectations and confidence in their future.

You will run a dedicated area within the school. There will be up to six students in your group at any one time. The large majority of your time will be spent with the young people: working with them as a group, individually and overseeing their school work. In addition you will liaise with other adults: parents, teachers, support staff and outside agencies. You will need to write regular clear plans, reports and evaluations.
