Job overview

Vision for Education are currently recruiting for the role of a Behavior Mentor to work in Pupil Referral Units, Alternative Provisions, or similar settings across Salford. Either experience of, or a desire to work with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs is essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to pupils’ lives and their experience of education, especially those who have become disengaged from education. The role of a Behaviour Mentor can either be part or full-time dependant on your preferences.

The role

As a Behaviour Mentor your responsibility will be to work either with smalls groups or 1:1 with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviour. Therefore, having strong behaviour management skills is desired to facilitate a safe and positive learning environment and de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour.

The School

The units and provisions we work with in provide bespoke, child-centred, high quality education programmes, which aim to ensure that all students individual educational needs are met. The successful Behavior Mentor will be confident in supporting students and implementing behavior management strategies.

 Requirements -

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for the Behavior Mentor position are:

  • Have relevant experience at a minimum of 6 weeks
  • Strong behaviour management abilities
  • Be patient, engaging, inspiring, creative, consistent, and calm when under pressure.

We require someone who enjoys the immensely rewarding work or inspiring students who are emotionally and/or socially challenged and who can establish positive learning experiences through intuitive and creative learning.
