To support the Senior Leadership team to lead and manage student behaviour day to day. To act as a role model for students and staff by demonstrating high quality pastoral care and support, rigorous expectations and to be a visible, professional presence with students. The role requires diplomacy, understanding of vulnerable students and an ability to resolve conflict in a calm and rational manner. If you like challenge and fulfilment then this role is for you.  

The Behaviour Support Assistant will join the Pastoral team, supporting the supervising of students temporarily isolated from lessons and developing intervention strategies to manage behaviour.

The successful applicant will:   

  • Have experience of supporting young people 11-19   
  • Be confident in managing challenging behaviours and your ability to control them and remain calm   
  • Have the ability to engage with students and build a rapport   
  • Have the ability to implement and monitor behaviour management strategies     
  • Contribute to school wide knowledge and skills in behaviour management   
  • Possess excellent organisational skills combined with the ability to prioritise time and tasks in order to meet deadlines and provide a friendly and efficient service.   
  • Have a high level judgment, communication and emotional intelligence skills.
