Do you want to be part of something new and exciting in Coventry?

Finham Park 2 is an exciting new co-educational academy in Coventry that opened in September 2015. Already a popular choice with local parents, we are significantly over-subscribed for 2016-17 and have a full cohort of 240 Year 7 & 8 students. Our students are smart, thoughtful, inquisitive, well-behaved and polite; on entry they are significantly above the national average for attainment in English and Mathematics.

The school was set up by leaders from the ‘Outstanding’ (2015) Finham Park School and is proud to be part of and supported by the Finham Park Multi Academy Trust.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a professional and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Learning Mentor. This is to provide a complementary service to that provided by teachers and pastoral staff in order to address the needs of pupils, who need help and support to overcome barriers to learning, both inside and outside school, to achieve their full potential. It will involve working with a range of students, but giving priority to those that experience multiple disadvantages.

The role will target, help and support as part of a coordinated response by the school and other agencies to address a range of issues and bring about a positive sustainable changes with individual students and the school community as a whole. The successful applicant will join a growing team of staff who are committed to supporting the teaching staff to ensure that Finham Park 2 students have the best educational “experience” possible.

Closing date:   Friday 27th January 2017 at 9.00am

Finham Park 2 is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment

Finham Park 2 is an exciting, innovative, friendly and supportive 11-19 co-educational comprehensive school based on the West side of Coventry near the border of Solihull and close to Warwick University. We opened in September 2015 with 120 students and are growing year on year until we reach our full size of 800, including 6th form, by 2021. In September 2016 we moved to our new building- a light and spacious, high quality refurbishment with superb facilities including a brand new sports hall. We are fully staffed with a positive, supportive, forward thinking staff team. We continue to be heavily oversubscribed each year. Our recent Ofsted (June 2018) described Finham Park 2 as a good school with “high aspirations for all pupils”, “a very comprehensive curriculum”, where “leaders are passionate about pupils’ development as fully rounded individuals.” and “pupils have positive attitudes to learning….and want to do well.”

However, we are not complacent and our goal is not just to be an outstanding school, but a ‘world class’ one – something for the whole community to be proud of!

Finham Park School (and more recently Finham Park Multi Academy Trust), the parent organisation of Finham Park 2, has been a highly regarded part of the educational landscape for over forty years. It has a long and proud history or providing the highest quality teaching and an innovative curriculum. The school has been judged as ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted over a 10 year period- a reflection of the ambition leaders have for all of our students in the multi-academy trust. Finham Park 2 reflects the ‘world class’ aspirations of Finham Park School, building on our core values of Pride, Respect and Responsibility. We believe that school is about children ‘having the time of their lives’ and provide opportunities for this to be a reality. We are supported by and proud to be part of Finham Park Multi Academy Trust.
