Job overview

As a growing Academy we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and positive Behaviour Support Worker to our Inclusions Team to support and build on our current success in addressing the needs of all pupils but especially those needing help with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) and behavioural difficulties.  If you are an experienced practitioner, with a strong personality, and have the ability to ‘think on your feet’ in high pressure situations and defuse and de-escalate challenging behavior, then this is the role for you.  Post start date: to be confirmed.

We are looking for:

  • An energetic, creative professional with a passion for motivating and empowering SEMH learners to achieve their potential;
  • Experience of raising achievement and self-esteem among demotivated and disengaged pupils;
  • An outstanding practitioner who can evidence knowledge of behaviour management strategies and demonstrate the ability to enable SEMH learners to manage their own behavioural difficulties;
  •  Successful experience of building constructive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, school staff and outside agencies;
  • A clear thinker, optimistic and resilient;
  •  Proven experience in delivering challenging targets and meeting deadlines under pressure;
  • An enthusiastic team player, who is an effective communicator with good interpersonal skills;
  • Flexibility and a commitment to whole school development and success;

We will offer:

  • Children who are self-motivated, eager to try new experiences and proud of their Academy;
  • An enthusiastic, caring staff team who have high expectations of themselves and the children;
  • A supportive SENCO and Heads of School with a strong commitment to the Academy; • A comprehensive induction programme and opportunities for excellent, high quality professional development;
  • The opportunity to make a difference in a caring Academy.
