Smart Teachers is recruiting for Behavioural Teaching Assistants to work in mainstream secondary schools throughout the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The specialist Teaching Assistants will be working exclusively with students with challenging behaviour and ASD. We have a constant flow of work available ranging from daily supply to long-term roles. Smart Teachers is looking for dedicated Behavioural Teaching Assistants to join our pool of candidates. About the Role

  • Behavioural Teaching Assistants needed to work throughout various secondary schools in Waltham Forest
  • Will be providing individualised support to students with challenging behaviour, as well as those with ASD
  • Will be providing support within the whole class, 1:1 and in small groups 
  • Full- and part-time placements and flexible working hours / days available 
  • Daily supply, short- and long-term contracts available based on candidate preference
  • Will be working within various mainstream secondary schools
  • Daily rate from £70 depending on experience

In order to be considered for this role, the Behavioural Teaching Assistants will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Have recent classroom experience in the UK (minimum 3 months within the past two years is essential)
  • Previous experience with SEN and/or challenging behaviour (SEMH, ASD, MLD, SLD, PMLD, complex needs) (desirable)
  • Have strong behaviour management skills
  • Have excellent communication skills as well as strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS / police checks
