Term time only (36 weeks/annum).  32.5 hours/week (8am - 3.30pm with one unpaid hour for lunch). This role is also open to candidates who wish to do an apprenticeship with us level 3 EY Educator. 

Your opportunity

This role is either for a bilingual candidate who already has their level 3 EY Educator, or, If you speak English and French and are interested in undertaking your Level 3 Early Years Educator Childcare Apprenticeship, an apprenticeship provides a fantastic opportunity to combine the achievement in gaining a qualification with on-the-job training, enabling you to learn while you earn. Take your childcare skills to the next level. Give your career prospects a real boost with training on the job to become a qualified nursery supervisor. The early years qualification will help you progress your career, increase your earning capacity and open up a whole new world of exciting possibilities to you.

Hours of study will depend on the provider we work with but most likely entail evening classes so that you are available in the day to work at our school.

Overview of role

You will formally report to the Head of Primary but on a daily basis you will work under the classroom EYFS teachers who will instruct you. You will support the teachers in the delivery of the Early Years Curriculum. You will work in partnership with the school to establish a supportive and nurturing learning environment in which children make excellent progress.

 Key Responsibilities 

  • establish an effective and purposeful learning environment in partnership with the teachers and other colleagues
  • support teachers in assessing the needs of individual children
  • assist in creating materials for curriculum delivery and display boards
  • promote inclusion of all the students in the school
  • assist with behaviour management within and outside the classroom
  • assist students’ social development, progress and achievement outside the classroom
  • take safeguarding seriously and be observant and follow the schools safeguarding policy
  • supervise students in the playground, dining hall, etc
  • maintain confidentiality
  • attend regular meetings and training as required
  • communicate and liaise with staff, students, etc. as appropriate
  • participate as an active member of the school community.

The Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill occupies the site of the former Brent Town Hall, a 1930s Grade II-listed building in the late Art Deco style that was bought from Brent Council by the French Education Property Trust in 2012. The new campus is set over five acres, with 12,000 square metres of refurbished and purpose-built teaching spaces for the three levels of schooling:

  • Early Years/Primary: Nursery/Reception to Year 6
  • Lower Secondary: Years 7 to 10
  • Upper Secondary: Years 11 to 13

The campus boasts multiple onsite sports facilities including a running track, three outdoor grass pitches, and an indoor gymnasium. The newly-constructed annex building houses modern science classrooms and a large, bright canteen.

2020 University Offers and destinations:

Our final year (Terminale) students currently have offers from top universities in six different countries, including the UK, France, Canada, Spain, the US, and the Netherlands. Two-thirds of the total UK offers received so far are from Russell Group universities, including University of Cambridge, Imperial College, University College London (UCL), the London School of Economics (LSE), King’s College, Durham University, and the University of Edinburgh.

Additionally, 85% of students that applied via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) have received three or more offers to date (out of a maximum of five). Our Terminale students have also received great offers so far from École Polytechnique (Bachelor), The University of British Columbia (UBC)-Sciences Po, McGill University, University of Toronto, IE University, Maastricht University, Northeastern University, and Columbia University-Sciences Po. More offers are coming in every day! We are proud of each and every one of our graduating class members.
