Salesian College requires for September 2022 a Biology Laboratory Technician.
The Biology Laboratory Technician supports the teaching staff in the delivery of the Science curriculum from Year 7 through to Biology practicals at A level.
The College is looking for someone ideally with experience of working in a school/college environment as a Biology Laboratory Technician. However, experienced science technicians from any discipline will be considered providing they have experience of handling chemicals and microorganisms in a laboratory environment.
The successful candidate will be subject to safeguarding procedures and an enhanced DBS check.
The nature of the job means that the individual will be required to work without close supervision, largely working from written instructions provided by the teaching staff, with reference to the schedules of teaching, and to the standard support manuals used by science technicians in schools (CLEAPSS).
It will be an advantage to have at least an A level in biological science, as well as skills in the use of email, spreadsheets and word processing.
