There are 780 pupils on roll and a Sixth Form of 220.

A co-educational and selective academy, located 20 miles east of Lincoln and attracting students from a wide area surrounding the market town of Horncastle. 

Required for September 2017 an enthusiastic teacher to join the Science Faculty. Applications from NQTs or from more experienced teachers are welcome. We are looking for a Biology specialist to be able to teach throughout the school, including GCSE and A level. 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • aspire to be outstanding in their classroom practice; 
  • have excellent communication skills, able to articulate her/his expectations;
  • have flexibility and an abundance of energy.

About Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School

Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School is based in the town of Horncastle, in Lincolnshire. It is a secondary, state-funded educational establishment and is a proud forming member of Horncastle Education Trust. It educates students aged between 11 and 18. The school’s origins date back to 1327; however, officially it is said to have opened for the first time in 1571. At the moment, there are approximately 800 students enrolled at the school. Around 200 of them are on the roll in Sixth Form.
