Loughborough Grammar School are seeking to recruit a Biology Technician to join the team in our Biology Department in a key role, providing technical support for the delivery of the Biology curriculum and management of the Department’s resources. 

The role will involve working full time during term time, 08:00-4:30pm, with an additional 20 days to be worked during school holidays (in a variable working pattern). 

Duties include the organisation, preparation and execution of biology practicals in a safe manner; maintaining and monitoring equipment, chemicals and biological material and ensuring laboratories are tidy and safe. Candidates should have an awareness of Health and Safety regulations eg COSHH and a good working knowledge of laboratory techniques. 

The role requires a methodical and well organised approach to work and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.  

Previous experience in a similar role is preferable. We will also consider candidates with science qualifications looking to support the education of pupils.

Loughborough Schools Foundation is a charitable foundation of four independent schools in the heart of Loughborough, educating children from 3 to 18 years. It comprises Loughborough Grammar School (boys, 10–18 years), Loughborough High School (girls, 11-18 years), Loughborough Amherst School (Co-educational 4-18 years) and Fairfield Prep School (Co-educational 3-11 years). In addition, the Loughborough Nursery (6 weeks – 4 years) is our day nursery which opened in 2016.
