Hockerill is a very successful school and has high expectations of its supportive and dynamic students and staff. The College was previously IB School of the Year and has consistently topped te comprehensive state school sixth form league tables. Hockerill is one of only 37 state boarding schools, with a vibrant international community of  841 students, almost 300 of whom are residential boarders. It is situated in the historic market town of Bishop's Stortford and is within 30 minutes of both London and Cambridge, with Stansted Airport just 10 minutes away.

Boarding House Tutors are responsible for the welfare of boarders (in loco-parentis), and the maintenance of good order in the boarding house. Duties include writing boarding reports, supervising meal times and overseeing prep sessions.

House Tutors are expected to take part in internal and external activities and are committed to ensuring that the boarders are looked after in a homely environment whilst maintaining the standards expected by both the College and the National Minimum Standards for Boarding.

Accommodation may be available to an applicant who is able to commit to a minimum of 18 hours in boarding each week. Please state in your application form if this is of interest.
