As we move into an exciting new phase at Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), we are seeking to appoint a Building Operations Assistant to join St James the Great Academy.  As a one form entry primary school near Maidstone the county town of Kent, the school are lucky to have the best of all worlds with good transport links to London whilst enjoying being close to some of the most beautiful areas in Kent!

The academy is situated in one of the most beautiful grounds to be found anywhere in Kent. The site was originally landscaped in the 17th century and was the parkland of Clare House. On the site there is a splendid lake and fine mature trees with an abundance of wild life including nesting water birds.

The school moved into their state-of-the-art and purpose-built building in 2009. The old building has been developed into a Children’s Centre and Community Centre.  They have retained part of the old building as our Family Learning Centre where they hold a free breakfast club, after school activities, and family and parent activities.

SJA is a place where children are at the heart of everything we do. Our pupils are happy, have fun and enjoy being engaged in their learning and challenged in their thinking.

If you want to be part of a network of academies that is passionately committed to inspiring children and young people, this role could be for you!

As an enthusiastic, proactive, customer-focused, organised individual, you will ensure that our academies function safely and effectively on a daily basis.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, be highly motivated, organised, full of initiative, and common sense, with a proven ability to work effectively under pressure, dealing with multiple tasks to meet time deadlines. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and relate well and build positive relationships with staff and key stakeholders.

AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them.  In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes.  You will also be entitled to the following benefits: Local Government pension scheme and a health cash plan.

This is a very exciting time for Academies Enterprise Trust and we hope you will join us on our journey.
