THE KING’S SCHOOL   The King’s School is a financially sound, happy, successful, forward thinking academy providing an excellent education for boys aged 11-19.   

An enthusiastic and dynamic individual is sought to lead the Finance, HR, Estates and Resources teams of this growing academy. You will provide advice on strategic financial issues, be responsible for financial management of the Trust and the leadership of the support staff team. As a key member of the SLT, you will be expected to bring a modern, business-like approach to the leadership of the finance and estates function, running it as a highly competent and efficient service.   

The academy employs c150 teaching and support staff and has an annual budget of more than £5 million. There are 1130 students on roll, rising to 1200 by 2021, including almost 300 in the sixth form.   

The successful candidate will be accountable for systems, processes and procedures relating to budget, finance, administration, HR, estates, premises and H&S. You will display outstanding communication skills and be an inspirational leader with vision and a strong capacity to deliver results.   

We are genuinely open minded about the background of potential applicants for this role. Whilst we recognise whilst there may well be staff from schools seeking career development we will equally welcome applicants from other areas of work with relevant skills and experience. Regardless of the background, the ability to lead and develop the finance and business management functions to support the development of our students will be paramount.

This is a full-time post (52 weeks with 32 days paid annual leave plus public holidays) and requires flexibility.
