The Norton Knatchbull School is a boy’s grammar school founded in the 1630s by Sir Norton Knatchbull for boys aged 11-18, which also admits a growing number of girls in its Sixth Form. It currently has nearly 1,200 students. The School has a track record of excellence and a tradition of positive relationships with the local community, businesses and all other stakeholders. In common with many state funded schools the balancing of income and expenditure requires constant attention and there is continuing attention on ensuring value for money and avoidance of unbudgeted expenditure. The School is now anticipating an exciting period of growth, in part due to the population growth of Ashford and the surrounding areas. The Board of Governors have a vision of new buildings and facilities to be provided in the next three to five years that will in part require external financing to bring to fruition.

Governors are therefore inviting applications from suitably experienced and dynamic candidates to work with the School’s Head Teacher, Senior Leadership Team and staff to take the School forward into its next stage of development.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with at least five years of post-qualification experience and a strong working knowledge of the education sector. They will have an engaging personality, lots of energy, attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The ability to think and plan creatively and strategically is essential.
