Bursar/Head of Business Operations

Budapest British International School is an independent, co-educational British International school, accredited by COBIS, with a prestigious UK based Board of Trustees.  It currently caters for 165 international students, but is at a very exciting stage of its development, opening a brand new state of the art senior school in August 2020, eventually for 380 students, from Reception through to Year 13.  

The School operates on a site it wholly owns, in the prestigious District 12 residential area in the Buda side of Budapest.  It was founded only four years ago, and is now over subscribed with waiting lists. It has quickly gained a reputation as an outstanding new British international school, catering for over 32 nationalities and offering the UK National Curriculum in Primary, and the MYP and eventually DP curriculum from the IBO in the Senior School.  The school is currently in the candidate phase for MYP and has Years 1 – 8, is two form entry and limits class sizes in the Primary to 16, and in the senior school to 18.

We are at the stage of our development where we need an experienced Bursar, to plan sustained growth for the school, and with the shared vision of developing a new model in international schools to cater for the “boutique” and elite market, selecting on entry and providing individualised and outstanding quality teaching and learning, to ensure academic excellence, within a holistic, caring and modern school.

In our COBIS inspection last year we were highly praised and the school is well on track for another outstanding inspection in two years from COBIS and the IBO.  This is an outstanding opportunity for a modern thinking, versatile Bursar to help blueprint a new movement in international schools, and we are looking for a talented and experienced person to join our whole school SLT and enable us to achieve our mission statement.  We are looking for someone to work with the school Principal to drive the five year development plan, so they must have a strong background in all aspects of school business, facilities and financial management.
