Job overview

BURSAR’S ASSISTANT

Full time, £30,000-£35,000

This is an exciting and challenging role, offering an unparalleled opportunity to add value at the heart of the management of our school. You will act as Personal Assistant and Office Manager, providing confidential support to the Bursar, facilitating his ability to lead the Bursarial Department. As the school’s Human Resources Administrator, you will maintain the Single Central Register and keep accurate personnel records. Additionally, you will oversee the recruitment process for all staff, and produce employment contracts and HR correspondence. You will co-ordinate Bursarial Department activities and personnel in support of school events e.g. Open Days. In due course, the role will offer opportunities to become more engaged with the school’s commercial and compliance activities.

You may already be a PA or Executive Assistant, or have a background in HR, compliance or management. Ideally, you will have previous experience in a school, but you might equally well come from a different sector. What is important is that you are energetic, a quick learner, discreet, trustworthy and tactful. It is essential that you will be happy and effective as part of a hard-working and dedicated team and are willing to embrace the dynamic environment of a school. You should be an effective communicator, skilled in using IT. The role demands that you are highly organised, accurate, and logical, capable of prioritising, but also of shifting focus rapidly as circumstances direct. You will have initiative and will strive for continuous improvement in processes and systems.

This is, truly, an exciting opportunity to join this happy school set in the rolling Surrey hills.
