Job overview

Barnardo's High Close School is a flourishing residential and day special school catering for up to 94 young people with a complex range of needs. 

We are seeking someone who as a member of the Senior Leadership Team will: 

  • Provide strategic financial advice and professional business management support to the Principal.  
  • Oversee Estate management and Health and Safety 
  • Line manage the school office and support staff 
  • Support colleagues across all disciplines within the school, to enable the school to meet its educational and care aims within its business targets. 
  • Be self-motivated and take the initiative when necessary 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is ambitious and has experience of school financial management.  We welcome applicants with special and mainstream school experience.  

Wellbeing is prioritised at the school including an active Wellbeing and Mental Health Lead, support groups, wellbeing activities and Barnardo's employee assistance programme. This is a core part of the ethos of High Close School.

High Close School is a weekly boarding residential and day special school catering for young people with a complex range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

We cater for young people in KS2, KS3 and KS4. We offer a traditional school experience equivalent to mainstream with outcomes that includes recognised qualifications at the end of KS4.  We do this in small classes with high levels of pastoral care and support.
