The Hawthorns School is a thriving prep day school for over 450 pupils aged 2-13. The school is located on an idyllic 35-acre estate in Bletchingley, Surrey.
The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, experienced and business minded individual to make a leading contribution to the school. Reporting to the Governing Body and working with the Head, the Bursar is a critical member of the Senior Leadership Team and is expected to play a central role in the school’s planning and development strategies.
The Bursar is accountable for the strategic financial management of the school and leadership of operational services. Expertise in finance and a proven record of leadership, with a collaborative team orientated approach, is essential. The Governing Body and Senior Management Team have ambitious plans for The Hawthorns School. Through the leadership of their team, the Bursar will oversee projects and all aspects of the school’s business, including finance, estates, admissions & marketing, ICT, HR, compliance, health & safety and catering.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be adept at contributing to strategy. Existing school Bursar experience is not a pre-requisite.
