Tendring Technology College is a key member of Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), a multi-Academy sponsor which aims to provide the opportunity for all young learners to fulfil their real potential, broaden their horizons and become active, prosperous and successful citizens in the world around them. We attained Teaching School status in July 2014 and are a large successful 11-18 mixed comprehensive school, which has two campuses; Frinton Campus (KS4 & KS5) and Thorpe Campus (KS3) with 5 miles between sites.

We are seeking to appoint an Administration Apprentice to be part of our admin team, assisting with administration and clerical work primarily for Initial Teacher Training. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to learn about office processes, and quality customer service, all within a school environment.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual who enjoys contact with a variety of people, and has a keen interest in all aspects of office administration, particularly within an educational environment. If you would like the opportunity to enter into the workplace, gain experience and a Business Administration qualification we would welcome an application from you.

You will complete either a Level 2 BTEC Certificate in Business Administration or Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Business Administration. You may also be required to complete Literacy, Numeracy and IT Functional Skills (this will be determined by existing qualifications). Your Assessor will assess you in the workplace approximately every 4 weeks. In between these meetings you will have dedicated time away from your job to work on the apprenticeship and collate evidence for your apprenticeship e-portfolio with ongoing support from your Manager and Assessor.

This is an exciting opportunity to be in a real job, with real variety from day one, whilst working towards a qualification.

To be eligible for the Apprenticeship, applicants must have resided in the UK or EEA for 3 years prior to the start of the Apprenticeship and must not hold a level 4 (or equivalent) qualification or above. Please note: applicants must not be a graduate or have already completed a Level 2/3 Business Administration apprenticeship (depending on the level you are applying for).

This will be a fixed term position and the duration of the apprenticeship will be determined by the job role and current skills.

Please note: AET has their own in house apprenticeship scheme and do not work with any other training providers to deliver Apprenticeships.

As the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. In each of our schools, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, vehicle affinity scheme, Cycle2work, childcare vouchers and Westfield rewards.

This position is required to commence as soon as possible.

Closing date: Thursday 8 December 2016.

Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing Monday 12 December 2016.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.
