The Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools wishes to appoint an apprentice to work in our Media and Resources team. Based in Prendergast School you will be working with our Media & Resources Manager to deliver a service across our schools. 

This post will be offered on an 18 month fixed term contract.

You will have the opportunity to use your creative skills to assist in the design and production of high quality documents, leaflets and letters for staff, students and parents in keeping with the Federation’s image. You will also provide technical support for our student Innovation Hub.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and creative and able to work equally as well on their own initiative or as part of a team. You will have a passion for print production and digital media software and demonstrate the ability to be organised, have attention to detail and follow instructions.

You will learn how to use digital media to design documents and fliers. You will learn how to use photocopying machines and printers to produce all kinds of items like documents, brochures, leaflets and pictures and how to ‘finish’ the printed materials by binding or mounting them.

You will become familiar with using digital media equipment, updating websites, video creation and photography.

During your apprenticeship you will be asked to complete the following qualification:

  • Level 3 Business Administrator

Minimum requirement:

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s including English and Mathematics

The post holder will be required to work 39 weeks a year during school term time.

Hours: 35 hours a week, 39 weeks a year (term time only + 5 Inset Days)

You will be based mostly in the Media Resources Office at Prendergast School working under the direction of the Media & Resources Manager and will be required to work in Prendergast Ladywell School and Prendergast Vale School on some occasions. You will need to dress smartly; jeans or trainers are not allowed.

We are very proud of our last Ofsted judgement of Outstanding in all areas, our third Outstanding judgement in a row. We are described in the most recent report as ‘exceptional’ and having ‘exemplary attitudes to learning’ across the school.
