Founded in 1876 as an Independent day school for local boys, John Lyon in Harrow-on-the-Hill is one of the top independent day schools for boys aged 11-18 in the UK.
This is an exciting time in the evolution of this team. The postholder will be the first member of this new administrative function and will play a significant role in developing three direct reports and shaping the future Central Administration Team function. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and leadership skills with a thorough working knowledge of MS Office and Google applications and ideally iSams (training can be provided). A professional calm approach, attention to detail, confidentiality and the ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure are essential, as is the ability to communicate and deal confidently with a wide range of people and situations
You will be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high standards of service. You will be accustomed to finding innovative ways to drive efficiency and you will enjoy actively shaping your environment, reviewing working practices and delivering excellence in all that the team does. You will have considerable knowledge of best practice within an administrative setting and experience in management and leading high performing teams.
The successful candidate will join a strong leadership team collaborating with the Head, Bursar and Deputy Heads. You will possess a wide range of management capabilities including excellent IT and leadership skills.

Hours: 40 hours per week x 52 weeks per annum
Salary: £37,000 per annum
