Hours of work: 35 hours per week 8.30-4pm, Monday - Friday

Fowey River Academy is part of Adventure Learning Academy Trust (ALAT), a multi-academy trust set up to raise the standards of education in Cornwall. We currently require an enthusiastic individual to join our workforce as a Business and Administration Apprentice. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude, be enthusiastic and willing to learn, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As a Business and Administration Apprentice your duties will include: 

· front office duties, assisting/directing parents and visitors;

· answer parent queries; 

· answering inbound calls; 

· assisting the senior team in daily activities and any admin work; 

· general administrative duties such as, scanning, filing, printing, photocopying, notice boards; 

· inform parents of any arising issues; 

· responding to e-mails; 

· attend team meetings and provide input to continually improve the trust.

As an apprentice you will be included on a Business and Administration Qualification. Your qualification will be delivered by an award winning training provider who will support your learning and development throughout your apprenticeship. 

Skills required: Good IT skills with a knowledge of a range of different computer packages e.g. Word, Excel.  Good organisation skills and an ability to work independently with initiative. 

Qualifications required:  Grades A*-C in Maths and English or equivalent.

About Fowey River Academy

Fowey River Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Fowey, Cornwall. There are approximately 684 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.

Fowey River Academy was established in 1692 as Fowey Free School, opening to 30 pupils from low income families. The school has since been a boarding and grammar school throughout the years. In 2014, it received academy status, changing its name from Fowey Community College to Fowey River Academy.
